The BIOS (Basic Input/Output System) on the Lenovo IdeaPad 100-14IBY and 100-15IBY laptops is firmware stored on a dedicated chip on the LA-C771P motherboard (also referenced as LA-C771P in service documents). This firmware initializes hardware (CPU, memory, disk, keyboard, etc.) and launches the operating system. It also holds configuration settings such as boot order, date/time, CPU features, and power management options.

The LA-C771P board family supports both 14″ and 15″ variants of the IdeaPad 100 series with entry-level Intel processors. The BIOS includes standard menus for enabling/disabling devices, setting passwords, adjusting AC power behaviors, and managing security options such as supervisor/admin passwords and TPM settings.
