The NL5030S5 is an automotive low-side driver integrated circuit (IC), more formally known as the STMicroelectronics VNL5030S5-E or VNL5030S5TR-E. It is designed for driving resistive or inductive loads, such as solenoids or relays, in automotive applications.

The VNL5030S5-E uses STMicroelectronics’ VIPower technology and is equipped with various protection features: 
  • Built-in protections: It includes features for thermal shutdown, overvoltage clamping, and short-circuit protection.
  • Current limitation: The device can limit the output current during an overload condition.
  • High endurance: It is compliant with automotive AEC-Q100 qualification standards, ensuring its reliability in harsh automotive environments.
  • Low-side switch: It drives a load that is connected between the output and a supply voltage.
